Specialist Pre-Hospital Emergency Resuscitation (SPHERe) Course
Prometheus is proud to introduce a new course to its training portfolio - the Specialist Pre-Hospital Emergency Resuscitation (SPHERe™) course.
Developed by Prometheus, the two- day SPHEReTM course provides the pre-hospital medical professional with advanced training in pre-hospital resuscitation to enable them to deliver elite, high-quality care in the critical emergency of cardiac arrest.
Prometheus ran the first course on 1 – 2 November and is delighted to report that it was very well received by the doctors and paramedics who attended.
As with all Prometheus courses, the SPHERETM course is comprised of short lectures, high instructor to student ratios, supervised practical skill sessions and scenario-based moulages. The training was delivered by experts in the field of pre-hospital resuscitation, and was led by Course Director, Dr Richard Lyon, who is internationally recognised for his research into cardiac arrest.
As one would expect, the course is quite challenging but we are pleased to report that all fifteen students passed their assessments, feedback from the students could not have been more positive.
Only two days after the course, one student emailed; “Just a quick note to say thank you for last week’s course. Some of the best quality training I’ve ever taken part in, and the experience exposure for both staff and student was just ace! I felt both stretched and challenged on the moulage day! When on duty the next day I responded to a resus emergency, in the open, in a public place, multi-agency response. I've never felt more confident thanks to SPHEReTM, a big thank you!”
Prometheus plans to run a number of SPHEReTM courses next year on the following dates;
- 7th – 8th February 2013
- 4th – 5th April 2013
