Second Annual Charity Golf Day Raises £4000 for MARS

The second annual Prometheus Charity Golf Day on 10th June raised £4,000 for Mercia Accident Rescue Service (MARS). Elin Lancett from Prometheus Medical was thrilled to present a cheque for this amount to Dr John Hall, Dr Katie White and Mark Dawes of MARS on 19th July.  The money will go towards equipping Katie & Mark, who are the two newest MARS practitioners.

After the huge success of last year’s event, Prometheus Medical has made the Charity Golf Day an annual event. The event is organised to raise money for the local emergency charity, MARS, which provides immediate medical care for the critically ill and injured in Herefordshire and Worcestershire in support of West Midlands Ambulance Service. All MARS members are volunteers and provide their experience and services free of charge. From June 2009 to July 2010 MARS attended almost 350 accidents across the two counties. Prometheus Medial Ltd considers MARS to be the most valuable of our local charities, providing life-saving care at the roadside and fully deserving of support from the community it helps.

This year’s event was held at The Herefordshire Golf Course in Wormsley. Support included sponsoring a hole and donating prizes.

The day was sponsored by numerous companies and individuals including;

 Jo & Kevin Stevens  PTS  Team Fusion  Marc Owen
 Barry Reed  FW Woundcare  Blue Hackle  Karrimor
 MFDS  Chris Cole  Travis Perkins  Rob Waring
 2Secure  RH Loxton  MASS  Orphans Press

Prometheus would like to thank all the people involved in supporting this important event, both sponsors and participants, for making the day so successful.
