Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)

This three-day First Aid at Work course is designed for those who are appointed first-aiders in their workplace. This course provides the emergency responder with an enhanced level of medical capability to deal with a casualty in a trauma or a medical emergency.

Course Content

The First Aid at Work course aims to equip students with the essential skills, so they can deliver lifesaving immediate medical care to themselves or others.

The syllabus includes:
Roles and Responsibilities
Assessing an incident
Manage a casualty who is bleeding externally
Manage a casualty who is in Shock
Adult Basic Life Support and AED training
Manage a patient who is choking
Recovery position
Conduct a secondary survey
Chest injuries
Manage casualty with suspected injuries to bones, muscles and joints
Medical emergencies
Minor injuries
Provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness
Entry Criteria

No prior medical qualifications are required to partake in the course.
