Dr Syed Masud
Dr Syed Masud is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, Paediatric Emergency Medicine and Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine – currently based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. Syed has 10 years’ experience as an officer with the British Army and was deployed to several war zones working with elite specialist Airborne Forces. He has worked at several UK Air Ambulance units including Great North Air Ambulance, London HEMS and is currently the Medical Director at Thames Valley Air Ambulance. He was the originator for many innovative courses over this period including the HEMS Crew Course (HCC) and UK HEMS. He has also extensive Event Medicine experience having been the lead doctor for many national events and was the first appointed Chief Medical Officer to Wembley National Stadium. Uniquely Syed is the only EM & PHEM Consultant who is also a fully qualified police officer in the UK - having successfully graduated from the famous Hendon Police College in 2016. He is a member of the Metropolitan Police Service Clinical Advisory Panel and also the Force Medical Director for Thames Valley Police and Hampshire Police Constabulary.
