Proficiency in Medical Care on Board Ship Course

This training is intended for seafarers who are designated to take charge of medical care on board ship and on completion of the training, the students will have sufficient knowledge of the types of ships' medical equipment and stores and their use to be able to diagnose medical problems on board ship, provide medical care to the sick and injured while they remain on board and participate in co-ordinated schemes for medical assistance to ships.  This training is provided in accordance with Regulation VI/4 of the Annex to the STCW Convention and Section A-VI/4(4-6) of the STCW Code and the Merchant Shipping (Training and Certification) Regulations 1997.
