National Fire and Rescue Service Trauma Conference
As operational fire crews are increasingly first on scene at incidents that involve trauma, the UK's Fire and Rescue Service continue to make a significant impact on the outcome of an injured patient by their actions in the first few minutes on scene.
Following the success of last year's National Trauma Conference West Midlands Fire Service are again proud to host the 4th National Fire and Rescue Service Trauma Conference. This years event will held on 12th - 13th November 2010 at the The West Midlands Fire Service Academy. The 2 day Conference will again be a fantastic opportunity for all who attend to keep up to date on what's new in trauma care.
As in previous years the conference program will be presented by some of the most eminent well respected practitioners and speakers from the field of Pre Hospital Care and is supported by The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh Faculty of Pre Hospital Care and The Academic Department of Traumatology, University Hospital Birmingham. Prometheus' Dr Malcolm Russell will be presenting on 13th November on 'Hot and Cold Injuries'.
This year's set of presentations will be dynamic, challenging and thought provoking and delegates will again be give the opportunity to get hands on, with break out groups and practical workshops.
The aim of the conference is to further enhance the provision of care to the public we serve, by bring together all partners that are involved in pre hospital care. The National Fire and Rescue Service Conference is an ideal platform to debate and discuss what is new in the world of Pre Hospital Care and its place in a modern Fire Service.
It is hoped that the 2 days will again forge further strong links and bonds between different brigades and organisations. Although aimed directly at Fire-fighters, the event is open to anyone who has an interest in pre hospital care.
