CBRN treatment, escape and rescue equipment

A large range of highly-specialised equipment is available. This includes:

• Fire retardant escape hoods  that can provide eye and respiratory protection for 15 minutes (when in a CBRN environment where oxygen is present in respirable quantities) to allow escape from a hazardous area
• Detection equipment is available to detect low oxygen concentrations and certain hazardous industrial and explosive gases
• The escape hoods fit comfortably into a briefcase or small rucksack
• More specialist detection equipment is available for high-threat environments.
